The “Letters from Africa” blog is maintained by Grace United Methodist Church in Sherman,Tx. We are blessed to have a covenant relationship with Bill and Jerri Savuto. We have plans for a team to visit the Maua Methodist Hospital in the summer of 2009.

Our Covenant Missionaries – Jerri & Bill Savuto
Currently serve at Maua Methodist Hospital
Previously served at Maua from 1998 – 2003
Jerri was a tutor in the hospital RN program teaching nursing
students in the areas of anatomy, physiology, nutrition, pharmacology,
medical and surgical nursing, pediactrics, and community health.
Bill installed & maintained computer hardware & software and training of students and staff in computer use. He was also responsible for work teams, hospital construction, a Street Boy’s Ministry, and worked closely with the AIDS Orphans Program of Maua Methodist Hospital.
The Savutos returned to the US in 2003 to begin work as the Interim Regional Executives for Sub-Sahara Africa with the General Board of Global Ministries in New York.City. February, 2004, they moved to the Dallas area to begin their new jobs as Missionary Interpreters in Residence for the South Central Jurisdiction of the UMC.
As of January of this year, they have returned to Maua and are located at the Methodist Hospital there. They are actively involved in hosting mission work teams, Palliative Care program, hospital construction projects, nursing program, and many more hospital activities.
Bill & Jerri previously served as GBGM missionaries from 1982 – 1989 in Belize City and Nigeria.
